hello internet

i've been feeling the urge to blog for a few months now, so that's what i'm doing…

when i was a kid i had a friend named emma (hey what's up emma if you ever see this) and one afternoon at her house, she introduced me to the world of blog.com. we set up new blogs together, and i felt like a whole new world had been unlocked. i could say whatever i wanted and put it on the internet!!! i remember writing about a trip i went on with my family, clothes, really good play dates i'd had, and my rate and review of taylor swift's red. aptly named, whateverness.blog.com was a special world until the day it disappeared from the internet forever. it didn't have any kind of theme, nor did i say anything groundbreaking, but i really wish i could still have that window into my mind at ten years old.

i have thoughts and images and art and music rattling around in my brain all the time, and i don't find instagram (or really any other social media platform) to be a welcoming place for me to share any of these things. the app makes me feel like i am going to die most of the time i'm on it, and i have a hard time with short form content generally. thus, the blog. i hope to post writing, diary entries, poems, knitting projects, songs, photos, animations, etc. on this website. i hope you will read/look/listen when you want to :)

the photo above is from january 12th, taken out the window at the top of my back staircase. today (march 9th) it was sunny and 54 degrees and i ate an ice cream sandwich with my friends!
